"I think cinema, movies, and magic have always been closely associated. The very earliest people who made film were magicians." Francis Ford Coppola

My interest in Film and TV began at a very young age when watching cartoons. I was always fascinated by the practical side of media production: how effects were created such as flying or mixing cartoon images with real footage, such as ‘Who framed Roger Rabbit’.  The potential and variety of media intrigued and inspired me. Since then, I have managed to visit TV studios and observe how a professional media teams work. Even though many of the techniques were revealed, the magic of cinema still remained. Since then, I have taught myself how to film and edit from resources available around me and I have taken every opportunity to film and edit programmes when presented with the opportunity. Each and every opportunity has strengthened my determination to become successful in Film and TV.
Media Studies, Film and TV has enabled me to express my cognitive processes and encouraged my creativity. It has allowed me to explore the potential of technology. Post-Production is my main interest in this industry. I have taught myself to be competently familiar with Apple Final Cut Pro X, Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro CC. Since the age of 11, I started editing via Apple iMovie and found that editing was one of my major strengths. Editing is what dictates the final vision and product that the world will observe, therefore it is one of the most vital parts of cinema.
I have experience in scheduling and budgeting short films. It is important for me to make sure everyone knows their responsibilities and that the schedule does not clash when doing production roles. Budget is also key to any production as there are always limitations to this. I track spending for every element of the production in a timely manner and consistently at sequential  intervals to ensure the budget is kept.
Unexpected problems are common during a production as well as during the pre-production and post-production stages. These problems can range from an accidental injury or a change in the script, or even a location ending up not fitting the production. It is crucial for me to be able to tackle these problems and find solutions, whether it is removing roadblocks or accessing unpermitted areas.
Communication is key when you need to work with such a large team of people, who differ in expertise and have a completely different skillset required for the production to run smoothly. Communicating and tailoring my delivery of information to the necessary people is crucial. I find time to learn the proper jargon and terminology used to maximise communication. Communication also takes patience and ensuring people understand and absorb the messages you are transmitting.
My passion in Film and Television will develop though my work and that magic will happen though emotion and editing working closely with the audiences.
